Quality control Requirements and Standard of Export Garments

Introduction:
Export garments quality should be high , there an standard for product. To keep export garments quality standard, some certain quality control requirement have to fulfill in every process of garments manufacturing.


Fabrics Quality control
Fabrics Inspection-
Ø  4 Point inspection system- Pass: Woven 1 Roll 20 Points, Average Lot 18, Denim 1 Roll 14: Average 18. 1 point defects average 14
Ø  Roll sampling/selection- AQL 2.5
Shrinkage pass tolerance
Length wise: 4%, Width wise 8-16%, two set pattern if shrinkage differ 2% or more
Distortion or Spirality -3%
Skew- 2%, Bowing- 2%

Trims and Accessories
Must Inspection Trims and accessories by AQL and Report

Pre-production Sampling
1.      PP Meeting- 5 Pcs per size
2.      Pilot Run/Test Cutting- Minimum 100 Pcs per Color
 CAD/Pattern
1.      Pattern library of all season
2.      Shape should not change when adjustment made
3.      Marker should be calibrated to check accuracy.
 Cutting
1.      Relaxation- Minimum 24 Hours (Depends on Fabrics nature and Brand Requirements)
2.      Cut panel must match with pattern

Fusing
1.      Bonding strength- 600 to 700 Grams
2.      Machine Setting- As per supplier requirement

Sewing
1.      100% Quality inspection in front part, back part, assembly and out put
2.      100% Measurement in sewing output
3.      Needle and Broken needle control
Washing (Laundry)
Follow buyer washing recipe in sample and bulk washing

Finishing and Packing
1.      Button Pull Test- Pulling strength shank 21 lbs, Snap button- Snap and unsnapping 3-4 lbs
2.      Snap button pinch setting and checking daily
3.      100% quality inspection
4.      100% measurement on Key points
5.      Heat seal attaching- Recipe set as per supplier data and hanging mock with machine
6.      100% garments pass through needle detector machine
7.      Keep 100% accurate packing as buyer requirement
8.      Checking moisture of Garments and packing area humidity- Moisture level should be less 7% percentage and humidity should be less than 55% 
9.      Doing pre-final Audit before final audit

Final inspection
1.      Checking packing accuracy after getting packing
2.      Follow customer inspection method
3.      Required equipment and light source availability
4.      Required light source should be minimum 1000 lx

  Quality Management system (QMS)

1.      Having own Quality Manual
2.      Follow Department Organogram
3.      QC training programme
4.      Setting SOP for all process
5.      Weekly or monthly Quality meeting
6.      Analyze Quality data and take decision
7.      Calibrate Quality control and others related equipment yearly or half-yearly like fusing machine, Needle detector machine, Button pull test machine, Light box etc.
