Research & development department is an important department for any textile and garments industry. This plays a direct role on developing a product. Every order firstly comes into R&D department via marketing peoples by mail or swatch. The R&D experts analyze these samples and match it with their developed samples. If they find similar samples then this is sent to buyers for approve. If buyers approve it then the R&D section goes for production.
R&D department working procedure in washing factory
A research and development department in garments washing factory, job role is like a sample section of a garments factory. But washing is a very sensitive and risky process. Their work started in the development sampling stage when they research for the development of a new style to get up to the mark in the washing process and washed garments outlook. The sample department involved with R&D. When sampling development is running for a new order, the R&D section develops washing requirements as per buyer provided sample or picture to prove washing factory are capable to do bulk washing. They also called a technical section in the washing factory. R&D section involved with all washing development in the pre-bulk production stage of garments such as fabric blanket washing, taking the approval of shade band, development sample washing, taking approval from buying a house. R&D section also washes 1st batch of bulk production, responsible for 1st batch washing requirements and guide the production team about bulk washing.
Objectives of R&D Department:
1. Planning and control of Dry and wet process of washing
2. Setting recipes, Developed New style and Wash according to the customer requirements.
3. To get / collect buyer feedback/ satisfaction by representing product or capacity.
4. Coordination with Production, Marketing and Merchandising department regarding technical, approved sample and others issue
5. To finding best production process with quality.
6. Try to fulfill any buyer requirement according to buyer comment.
7. To minimize time and cost with productivity
8. Increase productivity.
9. Increase profitability.
