Warehouse Management
The place where goods are kept is called a store or warehouse. Store refers to the activities involving storage of goods on a large scale in a systematic and orderly manner and making them available conveniently when needed. Store Means holding or preserving goods in huge quantities from the time of their purchase or production till their actual use or sale. Store supply chain department maintains a proper and up-to-date record of all material received and issued at the site. It ensures proper stocking, stacking and preservation of material; classify an item according to its characteristics. Store gives a unique code number to each item to avoid duplication and ambiguity. It reveals the excessive variety and promotes standardization and variety reduction. It helps to establish a common language for the identification of an item. Supply chain management helps to fix essential parameters for specifying an item and specify items as per national and international standards. Textile industries have mainly four types of raw materials which supply chain needs to manage. They are Yarn, Dies & chemicals, Fabric, trims, and accessories. Also, there is another department called planning which follow-up the activities of finish goods flow as there are three production units.
